Chris Walker Band

Band name/myspace page/web page?

Chris Walker Band,

 http://chriswalkerband.com

booking/contact info?

Chris Walker - 941-815-3532 and my wonderfully dedicated and talented booking agent Gretchen Cabranes 407-731-0461

Who is in the band what do they do?

Chris Walker - Guitar & Vocals, Clay Cottis - Percussion, Feliciano Carrion - Bass & Quatro

What is the story behind the band coming together?

After months of auditions with numerous players from across Florida, I feel I have finally found a close knit, positive, and creative entity to make music with. Both Clay and Feli and amazing theorists and writers on their own - with us combining our creative talents every show is more exciting than the previous. I'm very happy fate has brought us together, and I'm even happier to share it with anyone with a heart and ears.

What kind of music do you play (cover/original/style of music ect.)?

We are a power trio that plays covers to support our musical addiction, but we are currently writing and performing more originals each show. We focus on tasteful, yet intricate covers that can highlight our abilities as musicians and we are always trying to tweak our covers so that they are never the same twice. Some may say "how many different ways can you really play 'Brown eyed girl'?" ...come and check it out!

Who would you say are your major influences?

For myself my top three would be Jimi Hendrix, Eric Johnson, and Stevie Ray Vaughan. Clay's biggest influence is Steve Jordan, with Mitch Mitchell and John Bonham following closely behind. Feli is fairly new to American music, having just moved from Puerto Rico, but lists Jaco Pastorious, Pino Palladino, and Noel Redding.

Do you have any CDs out or being released any time soon?

I have a past demo with three originals and covers on it. Our debut album is due out for Christmas 2009.

What is your favorite song on the CD? Why?

You make love a crime was a shining moment on the demo. This new CD is really happening - the song selection, lyrics, album art, and music has all been a snowballing dream for 10+ years, I want it to make an impact and let people know where the band and I are at in life. I'm really proud of it.

Where could some one buy your CD and other merchandise?

When it's available you may purchase it at chriswalkerband.com. I am also working with distributors to get it out more mainstream.

What Venues do you play at frequently?

Tanners Pub in Winter Haven has been a great home to the band, Debbie is an amazing person and all the bartenders are stellar. Other venues include Ave Bar, Bar Louie, Shuckeys Oyster Bar, Old Man Franks, Louie Macks, Blue Moon Lounge and many others.

Where is your favorite Venue? Why?

My favorite venue is always the next one, I love performing for new faces at new places.

What do you have to say to any one who might read this on the internet?

Thanks so much Central Florida for your support, I feel like my life and career has truly started here with you. I really appreciate all the love and promise to keep on rockin'. Thanks especially to my wife Jessie and daughters Cadence and Brooklyn - my heart now beats outside my body. All of my family, friends, and incredible musicians I've had the chance to work with keep me inspired - and of course my little angel Pierce, love you all.

Who is in the band what do they do?

Micah Barrington; guitar, main song writer

Chris Bianchi - Guitar, song writer

Mike Wright - Bass

Ashley Beall - drums

Murray - Vocals

What is the story behind the band coming together?

Fire Within called it quits in mid to late '07. Micah and Chris wanted to keep playing but wanted to do something much heavier. After some searching they teamed up with Ashely(ex-cold case) and ex-Through Chaos singer Hector(heard on the first mortifier release - torture chamber). Mike, ex-singer from Fire Within joined on bass and mortifier was born.

What kind of music do you play (cover/original/style of music ect.)?

It's all original death metal in the old school styles like Obituary and Six Feet Under. Was always try to include grooves and hooks so it's not all insane, out of control metal.

Who would you say are your major influences?

We all have different influences. But if we had to name just one it would be Cannibal Corpse.

Do you have any CDs out or being released any time soon?

We released "torture chamber' in early '08 and we are releasing a split EP with Death Chant titled "reanimated remains" in early '09.

Where was the CD(s) recorded?

Death Chant Music Home Studio

What is your favorite song on the CD? Why?

Reanimated Remains. It's to the point, brutal death metal!

Where could some one buy your CD and other merchandise?

Off the Mortifier page or our label's page Death Chant Music

What do you have to say to any one who might read this on the internet?

booking/contact info?

Who is in the band what do they do?

Micah Barrington; I write the songs, play all the instruments. I work with different singers from time to time. Mostly Mike Wright(ex-singer from Fire Within) and Chris Bianchi (guitarist for Mortifier)

What is the story behind the band coming together?

I wanted to have a outlet for all my crazy ideas that would not fly in my full time bands. I enjoy allot of different music and am very creative so I just let it flow and it becomes what it is.

What kind of music do you play (cover/original/style of music ect.)?

Its all original. The main styles are metal(death/black) but I screw around with jazz, blues, and funk!

Who would you say are your major influences?

Necrophagia, Cannibal Corpse, & Mayhem

Do you have any CDs out or being released any time soon?

Sloppy Seconds came out earlier this year. Evil Green will be released in early '09. Should be about 13 tracks of metal. I'm also releasing a split EP with Mortifier and a self titled release in early '09.

Where was the CD(s) recorded?

Well....Death Chant Music is a label and a home studio, so I record it all myself.

What is your favorite song on the CD? Why?

My favorite right now is the song "Seal of Solomon" from the '09 self titled release(death Chant). It's a great blend of metal styles and I enjoyed playing it on the recordings allot!

Where could some one buy your CD and other merchandise?

Right off my myspace page. I have links to all the Death Chant Music products which not only cover Death Chant but also the two bands Mortifier and Fire Within's releases.

What Venues do you play at frequently?

Death Chant is a solo recording act only. I do not proform the material. My full time band Mortifier does play out and we will play just about anyway in c. florida.

Where is your favorite Venue? Why?

....brass mug? Lillian's was cool but it's gone now. Of coarse we've played Mad Hatter many times in the past but I understand they closed.

What do you have to say to any one who might read this on the internet?

Support the little guys! Buy some Death Chant Music releases so I can continue to record these bands for free!
